Kino Lorber nabs Jean-Luc Godard’s “Goodbye to Language”July 1, 2014 - 15:26 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Kino Lorber has acquired North American rights to Jean-Luc Godard’s newest film, the 3D Goodbye to Language, which premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, where it was the co-winner of the Jury Prize along with Xavier Dolan’s Mommy, The Hollywood Reporter reveals. The distributor plans to screen the film on the festival circuit, open it theatrically in New York in late October at the Film Society of Lincoln Center and IFC Center, and then follow with a national theatrical rollout on 3D screens. A digital VOD, home media and 3D Blu-ray release is planned for 2015. Produced by Alain Sarde and Wild Bunch, the film follows a couple whose relationship breaks down, with the second half of the movie being told from the point of view of a dog. The deal was negotiated between Kino Lorber CEO Richard Lorber and Carole Baraton, head of international sales at Wild Bunch. “To have the honor to release this ecstatically brilliant, career-capping film by the iconic Jean-Luc Godard leaves us appropriately speechless,” Lorber said.
