Talented art forger Mark Landis "Art & Craft" documentary trailer (video)

Talented art forger Mark Landis

PanARMENIAN.Net - Oscilloscope has released the first Art and Craft trailer and poster. The documentary centers on prolific and talented art forger Mark Landis. Landis successfully mimicked everyone from Picasso to Walt Disney to convince a number of museums that he offered authentic work.

The catch: Landis wasn’t in it for the money. He posed as a philanthropic donor, a grieving executor of a family member’s will, and a Jesuit priest to donate hundreds of works over several decades. The documentary explores Landis’ motives as his foil, registrar Matthew Leininger, fights to expose the forgeries.

Directed by Sam Cullman and Jennifer Grausman and co-directed by Mark Becker, Art and Craft opens in New York September 19 before expanding to other cities, Collider said.
