42% of Armenian Citizens Have Positive Attitude towards NATOOctober 26, 2006 - 19:02 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On the whole 42% of Armenian citizens have positive attitude towards the NATO, these are the data of the Gallup Institute, based on a survey of over 1000 citizens of the country over 18 years of age. 7% of respondents are not merely positive towards the Alliance, but also advocate for accession to the NATO, while another 35% do not object to it. Only 9% are flatly against accession to the NATO. 39% are unambiguously for Armenia staying a CIS member, while the same number evaluate that prospect as a positive one. As for the EU, a third of the respondents are for Armenia's accession to it, while 51% favor EU accession, reports Mir interstate TV and Radio Company.![]() ![]() As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed.
