OSCE Minsk Group to visit Armenia October 26

PanARMENIAN.Net - The OSCE Minsk Group will visit Armenia on October 26, a spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry said in a Facebook post. According to Tigran Balayan, during the visit, the Co-chairs will met with President Serzh Sargsyan and Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian.

Commenting on the meeting of the Presidents of the two countries, Azeri Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said: "There is no need to hurry about the time and place of the meeting of the Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents, as Co-chairs are scheduled to discuss the issue during the visit. Either the Presidents will choose the meeting venue, or the Co-chairs will arrive with a proposal.”

U.S. ex-ambassador to Azerbaijan Matthew Bryza cast doubt on the possibility of achieving peace where the parties do not trust each other.

“I don’t think the meeting will result in anything, but it must be held anyway to create trust-building atmosphere, which in itself is a complex and lengthy process,” Bryza noted.
