Karabakh conflict was high on Lavrov’s agenda: Deputy FM![]() November 12, 2015 - 16:38 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - A regional issue as important as the Nagorno Karabakh conflict could not have skipped Russian Foreign Minister’s visit agenda, Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister said, according to Tert.am. “Sergey Lavrov's agenda could not bypass peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, given Russia's co-chairmanship in the OSCE Minsk Group,” Karen Nazaryan told a press conference. The Armenian official refrained from commenting on a remark on recent reports concerning possible return of the areas adjacent to Karabakh to resolve the land dispute. “I didn’t take part in the meeting,” he said. Asked whether such an issue is on the agenda at all, the Deputy Minister said: “Those issues have been addressed many times before: it has been stated on different occasions that the Minsk Group have issued proposals for the comprehensive settlement of the conflict. Singling out and discussing certain elements is thus unacceptable not only to us but also to the mediators. But I don’t think [such a possibility] was discussed at the meeting.” ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
