Youngest Paris attack victim's father slams France for disastrous policy

PanARMENIAN.Net - The father of the youngest of those killed in the November 13 attacks in Paris, 17-year-old schoolgirl Lola Ouzounian refused to participate in a memorial ceremony in the capital led by President François Hollande.

Eric Ouzounian thus protested against the disastrous policy of France and its interference in the Middle East, its action against the Assad regime in Syria and its role in toppling the Libyan dictator, Muammar Gaddafi.

E. Ouzounian, a journalist and documentary-maker, said France and its recent leaders bear a heavy responsibility for what has happened.

In an article published on the Huffington Post, Ouzounian wrote: “France is incapable of offering its young people a future. Europe is incapable of lifting itself out of the liberalism in which it is bogged down. Our leaders are incapable of offering a political vision.

Our intellectuals, with a few exceptions, are incapable of getting away from their lucrative condition as media clowns. I am dismayed by my devastated country and I am devastated by the death of my daughter.”

Lola Ouzounian was at the Bataclan on a father-daughter outing. She and her dad, Eric, got separated amid the violence and chaos of the attack.

He was all right. But she disappeared.

Her family, friends and supporters on social media sought word of her for five days. Then officials gave her family the news it had dreaded.
