Karabakh hails OSCE envoy’s call to maintain ceasefire ahead of holidays

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Nagorno Karabakh Republic’s Defense Ministry hailed the call by the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk for the maintenance of ceasefire in the conflict zone.

Kasprzyk earlier urged the conflicting parties to refrain from activities that could further escalate the situation ahead of Easter and Novruz.

“The Karabakh army has taken one-sided confidence-building measures, seeking to ease tensions during the whole period of the armed confrontation,” the Defense Ministry said in a statement. “The armed forces are ready to stay true to their principles in the period that the Personal Representative has mentioned.”

At the same time, the Karabakh ministry said it expected to see Azerbaijan’s readiness to adhere to the ceasefire agreement and abstain from provocations.
