Azerbaijan uses howitzers, extended range rockets to shell Karabakh village![]() April 24, 2016 - 10:55 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijani forces intensified rocket fire along the line of contact with Karabakh in the April 23 afternoon. Besides military installations, the rival shelled the settlement of Mataghis, with a projectile, fired from type D-30 howitzer, landing in the village. No human losses were reported, the Nagorno Karabakh Defense ministry said. The rival remained active on the night of April 24, using 60- and 80-mm grenade launchers, caliber D-30 122-mm howitzers and TR-107 extended range artillery rockets to shell the Karabakh Defense Army positions. The Nagorno Karabakh Defense Army’s frontline units were forced to retaliate in order to stabilize the situation and halt the aggression of the rival. ![]() ![]() The foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov, have arrived in Washington.
