12th National Gallery International Music Festival kicks off in Yerevan

PanARMENIAN.Net - Gallery of Arts cultural fund, with the support of Armenia’s Ministry of Culture and in partnership with VivaCell-MTS on June 18 launched the 12th National Gallery International Music Festival which will run through July 7.

The general partner of the festival is Armenia’s leading telecommunications operator VivaCell-MTS, which has undertaken the sponsorship since 2006.

Starting from 2008, the festival has been included in the list of the State Assistance Programs of the Ministry of Culture.

The opening Gala Concert of festival, dedicated to the renowned tenor, People’s Artist of Armenia, Honored Artist of Lithuania Gegham Grigoryan, took place in the Mural Paintings Hall of the National Gallery of Armenia. The Gala Concert featured soloists of the Armenian National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet after A. Spendiaryan Artsvik Demurtschyan (soprano), Alina Pahlevanyan (soprano), Liparit Avetisyan (tenor), Davit Babayants (baritone), as well as the Armenian National Chamber Orchestra (artistic director and principal conductor Vahan Martirosyan), director Harutyun Arzumanyan.

The concert program included works by J.S. Bach, W.A. Mozart, G. Rossini, F. Schubert, G. Faure, G.B. Pergolesi, C. Franck, F. Durante, L. Luzzi, A. Stradella, N. Valente, G.M. Ferilli, S. Rachmaninov.
