RA CEC unaware of veto on Turkish observers arrival

PanARMENIAN.Net - The RA Central Election Commission (CEC) doesn't possess any information on Yerevan's veto on arrival of Turkish observers in Armenia, CEC chairman Garegin Azaryan told a news conference in Yerevan.

"The list of foreign observers presented to the CEC by the OSCE Yerevan Office has been accredited. All observers registered in the CEC have already received certificates and can proceed to their mission. We have no other data," he said.

Earlier, Ms. Urdur Gunnarsdottir, the spokesperson for the OSCE/ODIHR told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter that invitations to observe the Armenian parliamentary election were sent to 44 states including Turkey. "The Armenian authorities rejected presence of Turkish observers. However, they have not furnished an explanation yet," she said.
