OSCE to conduct monitoring of Artsakh-Azerbaijan contact line![]() March 14, 2017 - 11:37 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The OSCE Mission will on Wednesday, March 15 conduct a planned monitoring of the line of contact between the armed forces of Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh) and Azerbaijan, in the direction of the Martakert region, to the northwest of Talish settlement. From the Artsakh Defense Army positions, the monitoring will be conducted by Field Assistants to the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office (CiO) Ghenadie Petrica (Moldova) and Khristo Khristov (Bulgaria), as well as staff member of the Office of the Personal Representative of the OSCE CiO Peter Svedberg (Sweden). From the opposite side of the line of contact, the monitoring will be conducted by Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk, his Field Assistant Jiri Aberle (Czech Republic) and Personal Assistant Simon Tiller (Great Britain). The Artsakh authorities have expressed their readiness to assist in conducting the monitoring and ensure the security of the OSCE Mission members. The OSCE Mission regularly conducts monitorings on the contact line. Azerbaijan, however, has failed to take the members to its frontlines in the last couple of times. The foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov, have arrived in Washington. The CSTO budget for the current year requires adjustments due to the refusal of Yerevan to pay their share of contributions. Six total incidents have burned 19 old-growth trees. Friday night 8 trees were torched along the beautiful main entrance.
