Russia continued supplying T-90 tanks to Azerbaijan in 2016

PanARMENIAN.Net - Russia continued delivering T-90 tanks to Azerbaijan in 2016, Kommersant said.

The publication based the report on remarks by Russian President Vladimir Putin who was summing up the results of arms exports for the reporting period on Wednesday, March 22.

Meanwhile, Armenia became the first foreign owner of Iskander operational-tactical missile systems.

Overall, Russia managed to export arms and military equipment worth more than $15 billion in 2016.

During the four-day war unleashed by Azerbaijan against Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh) in early April last year, Armenians were angered by Moscow’s sale of ammunition to Baku. Many have even questioned the credibility of security guarantees of Russia-led CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organization).
