Serge Sargsyan, Condoleezza Rice discussed Karabakh process

PanARMENIAN.Net - October 23, Armenian Prime Minister Serge Sargsyan met with U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.



During the meeting, PM Sargsyan briefed on the process of democratic and economic reforms in Armenia. "The May 12 parliamentary elections conveyed an impulse to perfection of the electoral system," he said.



On behalf of the U.S. government, Ms. Rice said the U.S. will assist Armenia in organization of the 2008 presidential election.



The parties also discussed the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement process.



"Azerbaijan's bellicose statements do not contribute to resolution of the conflict," the Armenian Prime Minister said.

Besides, Sargsyan and Rice referred to Armenia's relations with neighbor states, security and energy issues, Armenia's participation in peacekeeping mission, etc.
