"I am very concerned about the latest deterioration of the situation in south eastern Turkey. I strongly condemn PKK terrorism, both in and outside Turkey," Mr Davis said. "My thoughts are with the families and friends of the soldiers who were killed and those who are still missing. My message to them and to the Turkish people is one of condolence and solidarity," he said. "The Turkish government should receive full support from the international community for all measures respecting international law and the European Convention on Human Rights.
