YELQ opposition bloc, EU envoy discuss Armenian, Yerevan electionsApril 19, 2017 - 15:18 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Leaders of YELQ bloc Edmon Marukyan, Aram Sargsyan and Nikol Pashinyan on Wednesday, April 19 met with EU ambassador to Armenia Piotr Switalski and coordinator of political affairs Andrea Khalupova. According to the final assessment of elections provided by the Central Electoral Commission, the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) claims 58 mandates, including three for minority representatives (Yezidi, Assyrian and Kurdish), the Tsarukyan bloc has 31 seats overall, including one for a Russian community representative, while YELQ bloc and the Armenian Revolutionary Federation - Dashnaktsutyun get nine and seven parliamentary seats, respectively. The envoy congratulated the alliance on making it to the National Assembly, as well as for its efficient and consistent work. The lawmakers, in turn, presented to Switalski their assessment of parliamentary elections held across the country on April 2, also briefing the ambassador on preparatory issues ahead of elections to Yerevan City Council.
