Three Armenians included in FIDE’s list of top 100 chess players

PanARMENIAN.Net - Three Armenian grandmasters were included in FIDE’s list of top 100 players, whose latest edition was published on Sunday, April 30 on the official website of the organization.

Levon Aronian, in particular, climbed three spots to the 6th position, while Sergei Movsesian and Vladimir Akopian come in the 64th and 83rd, respectively.

Among the 100 best female chess players, Armenia’s Elina Danielian is the 28th, while Lilit Mkrtchian is the 56th. The women’s list is led by Hou Yifan who recently competed at the Grenke Chess Classic, with Aronian snatching early victory following round six.
