OSCE will conduct monitoring of Karabakh-Azerbaijan contact line

PanARMENIAN.Net - The OSCE Mission will on Thursday, May 4 conduct a planned monitoring of the line of contact between Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh) and Azerbaijan, in the direction of the Askeran region, south-east of Akna.

From the Artsakh Defense Army position, the monitoring will be conducted by Field Assistant to the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Mihail Olaru (Moldova) and Personal Assistant to the CiO Personal Representative Simon Tiller (Great Britain).

From the opposite side of the line of contact, the monitoring will be conducted by Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk, his Field Assistant Ghenadie Petrica (Moldova), and staff member of his Office Martin Schuster (Germany).

Artsakh authorities have expressed their readiness to assist in conducting the monitoring and ensure the security of the OSCE Mission members.

Around 45 ceasefire violations by Azerbaijan were registered on the contact line with Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh) on May 2 and the following night, with around 640 shots fired from various caliber firearms.
