Armenian sambo fighters fetch five medals from World Championships

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian sambo fighters have secured five medals at the World Championships that came to a close on Sunday, November 12 in Sochi, Russia.

Grigor Mkhitaryan (52kg weight category) was named the champion on the last day of the tournament.

Vachik Vardanyan (68kg), meanwhile, lost his final bout to Russia's Daniil Veovodin to claim silver.

Earlier, Tigran Kirakosyan (52kg) had snatched a gold medal, while Maksim Manukyan and Arsen Khanjyan had won a bronze medal each, the National Olympic Committee said.
