  AZERI PRESIDENT CALLED UPON US TO FINALLY REPEAL SECTION 907 OF FREEDOM SUPPORT ACTSeptember 18, 2002 - 23:16 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Azeri President Heydar Aliyev has addressed the US calling to finally repeal Section 907 of the Freedom Support Act banning Washington direct assistance to Azerbaijan. The matter is political for Baku, Aliyev noted at the meeting with US energy minister Abraham Spencer. He emphasized that Azerbaijan needed US support and assistance in security and stability questions having geostrategic importance. At the same time the Azeri President expressed confidence that US signified establishment of peace in the Caucasian region. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
