Russian jets reportedly swarm Aleppo countryside

PanARMENIAN.Net - Russian jets are swarming the western countryside of the Aleppo Governorate on Monday, January 21 evening, Al-Masdar News cited a military source as saying.

According to the source, the Russian jets repeatedly circled the militant-held towns of Dart Izza, Khan Al-Assal, and Khan Touman in the western countryside of Aleppo.

Despite the large presence of Russian jets in western Aleppo, the latter has yet to launch any airstrikes against the jihadist rebel forces.

The source said that the Russian Air Force is specifically monitoring Khan Al-Assal, Khan Touman, and Dart Izza for militant movements around the western countryside of Aleppo.

The aforementioned western Aleppo towns are currently under the control of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham, which is one of the largest rebel groups currently active in northwest Syria.
