RA MFA annual report: Yerevan took initial step to normalize relations with AnkaraJanuary 21, 2009 - 18:14 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - After the February presidential election and subsequent formation of the Armenian government, President Serzh Sargsyan invited his Turkish counterpart to Yerevan as an attempt to thaw the ice in bilateral relations, says 2008 annual report issued by the Armenian Foreign Ministry. President Sargsyan's invitation was welcomed by the international community and the dialogue was continued by Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Edward Nalbandian and Ali Babacan, the report says. Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Moscow on April 22 to hold talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. Authorities said a total of 192 Azerbaijani troops were killed and 511 were wounded during Azerbaijan’s offensive. Partner news |
