Armenia ranks 67th for digital quality of life in 2020August 13, 2020 - 14:02 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia ranks the 67th in the 2020 edition of the Digital Quality of Life Index among 85 nations of the world (81% of the global population). In the previous edition – also compiled by Surfshark, an award-winning VPN – the country came in the 54th, though the report analysed the situation in 65 countries. A global research on the quality of a digital wellbeing, the study ranks countries by looking at five fundamental pillars that define the digital quality of life: Internet affordability, Internet quality, electronic infrastructure, electronic security, electronic government. "The report showed that Armenia has a below average digital quality of life. When it comes to internet quality, Armenia is in the 49th place. While mobile and broadband internet is relatively stable in Armenia, the speeds of both mobile and broadband internet drag the overall internet quality down," a representative from Surfshark told PanARMENIAN.Net Armenia’s e-security is ranked the 58th, the survey reveals. Its data protection laws index is considered to be low and the country needs to improve its preparedness for cyberattacks (Armenia occupies 70th position globally in terms of cybersecurity), the report adds. E-government and internet affordability are the areas Armenia can improve on the most, the report showed. It ranks 77th in terms of e-government and 65th in terms of internet affordability.
