Second Х Armenian Theater Festival to run in Yerevan from Feb. 16

PanARMENIAN.Net - X Theater Festival Opening Ceremony will be held in Yerevan on Feb. 16.



The Festival will host 16 troupes from Yerevan, Gyumri and Vanadzor. The second Festival organized by Theatre Workers National Union under the aegis of the RA Ministry of Culture will be opened with Malyan theater performance and run till Mar. 2.



Festival Chairman and Head of Theatre Workers National Union, Ruben Babayan informed that the Festival will include those theaters and theater unions which applied before deadline. The Festival aims at exposure of Armenian theater - related issues.



One of the organizers, theater critic Ara Hzmalyan noted that the aim of X Festival is to bring audiences back to the theater, which is a major problem today.



In contrast to current festival, the previous one was held on voluntary lines and hosted only seven troupes.
