UN Security Council to meet behind closed doors for Karabakh![]() October 19, 2020 - 12:11 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The UN Security Council will be discussing the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh behind closed doors on Monday, October 19. The meeting reportedly comes in response to a request from Russia, France and the United States. Closed consultations on Karabakh are scheduled to start at 33:00 pm. Azerbaijan, with help from Turkey and Syrian and Libyan mercenaries deployed by Ankara, started a war against Karabakh (Artsakh) in the morning of September 27. The Armenian side has reported deaths and injuries both among the civilian population and the military. Foreign and local journalists too have been injured in Azeri shelling of towns and villages. Donations can be made to Hayastan All-Armenian Fund, which has launched a fundraising campaign to support humanitarian efforts in Karabakh. The foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov, have arrived in Washington. The CSTO budget for the current year requires adjustments due to the refusal of Yerevan to pay their share of contributions. Six total incidents have burned 19 old-growth trees. Friday night 8 trees were torched along the beautiful main entrance.
