Armenia PM's wife enlisting to defend Karabakh

PanARMENIAN.Net - Anna Hakobyan, the wife of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, has revealed that a 13-strong female squad, including herself, will be enlisting to defend the borders of Nagorno-Karabakh.

"A squad of 13 women, including myself, will start military training tomorrow. We'll leave for defending the borders of our homeland in several days," Hakobyan said Monday, October 26.

Also Monday, Pashinyan urged Armenians to join the army and fight Azerbaijan's aggression against Karabakh. His son too has joined the Karabakh army as a volunteer, only months after completing his two-year compulsory military service.

Azerbaijan, with help from Turkey and Syrian and Libyan mercenaries deployed by Ankara, started a war against Karabakh (Artsakh) in the morning of September 27. The Armenian side has reported deaths and injuries both among the civilian population and the military. Foreign and local journalists too have been injured in Azeri shelling of towns and villages.
