Russia says premature to talk about Armenia-Azerbaijan summit

PanARMENIAN.Net - Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko has said it is premature to talk about arranging a meeting between the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan.

"We are now holding negotiations at the expert level, primarily within the co-chairmanship of the OSCE Minsk Group. It's probably premature to talk about anything else now," Rudenko told reporters on Tuesday, November 3, EADaily reports.

According to the Deputy Foreign Minister, Russia believes the conflict cannot be resolved militarily: "The settlement must be comprehensive, political, taking into account the interests of all stakeholders."

Azerbaijan, with help from Turkey and terrorist mercenaries deployed by Ankara, started a war against Karabakh (Artsakh) in the morning of September 27. The Armenian side has reported deaths and injuries both among the civilian population and the military. Foreign and local journalists too have been injured in Azeri shelling of towns and villages.
