Yerevan: Parliament council meeting fails to convene after Speaker's no-show

PanARMENIAN.Net - The sitting of the Council of the National Assembly did not take place because Speaker Ararat Mirzoyan did not show up to open the meeting on Friday, February 26, Bright Armenia leader Edmon Marukyan told reporters, according to Aysor.am.

“I consider this as a disrespectful attitude towards the one-fifth of the National Assembly. My assessment is the following: the National Assembly has no chairman, ”said Marukyan.

The Council meeting was scheduled for 11:00am on Friday. The opposition Bright Armenia and Prosperous Armenia parties had suggested lifting martial law declared in the country during Azerbaijan's aggression against Nagorno-Karabakh.
