Billboards in Pennsylvania urge Biden to recognize Armenian Genocide

PanARMENIAN.Net - Billboards calling on U.S. President Joe Biden to recognize the Armenian Genocide have been erected in Pennsylvania, the state's Armenian National Committee reports.

"As the 106th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide rapidly approaches, Armenians across the country are raising awareness and calling on the Biden administration to formally recognize the Armenian Genocide during his remarks on April 24," ANC-PA said in a Facebook post.

"In PA, billboards directed at President Joe Biden have been placed in Bucks and Montgomery counties."

On April 24, 1915, a group of several hundred Armenian intellectuals were rounded up and assassinated in Constantinople by the Ottoman government. Every year on April 24, Armenians worldwide commemorate the anniversary of the Genocide, which continued until 1923. Some three dozen countries, hundreds of local government bodies and international organizations have so far recognized the killings of 1.5 million Armenians as Genocide. Turkey denies to this day.
