Putin, Erdogan talk Karabakh over the phone

PanARMENIAN.Net - Russian and Turkish Presidents Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday, June 24 discussed the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, the Kremlin reports.

The two commended the work of the joint center for monitoring the ceasefire, the Kremlin said in a statement. The Turkish President said he supports Russia's efforts to ensure compliance with agreements enshrined in the statements of the leaders of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan from November 9, 2020 and January 11, 2021.

"Mutual readiness to continue coordination was confirmed, including in the interests of economic development and restoration of the region's transport infrastructure," the Kremlin added.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev on November 9 signed a statement to end the war in Karabakh after almost 45 days. Under the deal, the Armenian side has returned all the seven regions surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh, having lost a part of Karabakh itself in hostilities.
