Armenia Foreign Minister to travel to Moscow on Aug 31

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan will travel to Moscow to meet with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov on August 31, the Russian Foreign Ministry reports.

"This is the first foreign trip of the head of the Armenian Foreign Ministry since his appointment to the post. The ministers will thoroughly discuss further steps to develop the Russian-Armenian alliance in all areas, build up cooperation in common integration associations – the CIS, the CSTO and the EAEU – as well as coordinate positions in the UN, OSCE and other international organizations," the Russian side said in a statement.

"The progress in the implementation of the agreements from November 9, 2020 and January 11, 2021 of the leaders of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan on Nagorno-Karabakh, including humanitarian issues and the unblocking of economic and transport communications in the South Caucasus, will be considered."

The Russian Foreign Ministry also expressed hope that the talks in Moscow will contribute to deepening allied cooperation between the two countries and strengthening security and stability in the region.
