Muradov ensds mission as commander of Russian peacekeepers in Karabakh![]() September 7, 2021 - 12:45 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Defense Minister Arshak Karapetyan on Monday, September 6 met with Lieutenant General Rustam Muradov, who is completing his mission as commander of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh). The meeting was attended by the Defense Attaché at the Russian Embassy in Armenia, Colonel Igor Shcherbakov. The sides discussed the peacekeeping mission in Artsakh, as well as the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. Karapetyan thanked Muradov for his efforts to maintain peace in Artsakh and wished him success in his future activity. The Russian peacekeeping contingent was deployed in Karabakh after Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev on November 9 signed a statement to end the war in Karabakh after almost 45 days. Under the deal, the Armenian side returned all the seven regions surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh, having lost a part of Karabakh itself in hostilities. As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed. David Vardanyan is the son of former Karabakh leader Ruben Vardanyan who who is currently imprisoned in Azerbaijan. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has met with Stephan Schütz, Executive Partner at Gerkan, Marg and Partners. The number of state universities will be reduced from 23 to 8 by 2030, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan has said. Partner news |
