Azerbaijan says released Iranian truck drivers

PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijan has released two Iranian truck drivers detained in September on an interstate road through Armenia, Sputnik Azerbaijan reports citing the State Customs Committee of the country.

Azerbaijani police deployed on the road detained the truck drivers on the Goris-Kapan highway in Armenia's Syunik province on September 15, accusing them of transporting goods to Nagorno-Karabakh.

Azerbaijanis are checking Iranian trucks passing along this road, demanding payments from drivers. Since then, relations between Tehran and Baku have deteriorated sharply.
