Minister: Covid infection rates drop, deaths don't in Armenia![]() November 17, 2021 - 14:26 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Coronavirus infection rates are dropping in Armenia but the death rate remains high, Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan told a briefing on Wednesday, November 17, Sputnik Armenia reports. "The number of serious cases and deaths always begin to drop 2-3 weeks after [infection rates] decline. The relatively high mortality rates are still maintained. We hope those rates will decrease within a week too," Avanesyan told reporters. According to the Minister of Health, no patients are currently waiting for hospitalization. As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed. David Vardanyan is the son of former Karabakh leader Ruben Vardanyan who who is currently imprisoned in Azerbaijan. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has met with Stephan Schütz, Executive Partner at Gerkan, Marg and Partners.
