Armenia says ready for peace talks with Azerbaijan without preconditions

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia is ready for negotiations on a peace agreement with Azerbaijan without preconditions, Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan told the 40th special sitting of the Francophonie Ministerial Conference in Paris on Wednesday, March 16.

The Armenian foreign policy chief drew the attention of those present to the actions of Azerbaijan aimed at escalating the situation in the South Caucasus amid the current geopolitical realities, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Mirzoyan said Azerbaijan is causing a humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh, particularly by creating obstacles in the restoration of vital infrastructure, targeting the civilian population, exerting psychological pressure on the population.

The Armenian Foreign Minister stressed the need for a clear and targeted response of the Heads of Government of the Francophonie's governments to the Azerbaijani authorities so that they refrain from attempts to destabilize the situation in the region.

He said Armenia remains committed to the comprehensive settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict within OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship and is ready for Armenia-Azerbaijan peace talks without preconditions.
