SCR to invest AMD 2.6 billion in infrastructure development

PanARMENIAN.Net - In 2022, the South Caucasus Railway (SCR) will invest over AMD 2.6 billion drams in infrastructure development and maintenance programs, which are expected to positively affect the level of traffic safety on the railway.

the decision was made during a meeting of the Technical and Technological Council of the SCR, dedicated to the outcome of the implementation of the infrastructure development program for 2021 and plans for the current year.

In particular, 2.4 billion drams will be invested in the tracks, about 200 million drams in the field of electrification and energy supply, while an additional 60 million drams will be directed to the economy of automation, telemechanics and communications.

In order to improve traffic safety on the railway, this year it is also planned to continue the policy of eliminating unauthorized crossings, which the company actively launched in 2021.
