Asphalt plant in Armenia’s south comes under Azeri shelling

PanARMENIAN.Net - An asphalt plant belonging to the AAB Project LLC and located in the village of Noravan, Syunik province, came under fire from the Azerbaijani side on the night of January 5-6, Aravot reports.

As a result, electricity inside the plant was cut off, equipment was damaged, and the production cycle was disrupted. During the shelling, the plant wasn’t working, though a guard was watching the building. The latter was not hurt.

The company is engaged in road construction. In 2022 they built 160 km of roads in total. The company is currently building strategical roads connecting residential areas in Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh.

According to representatives of the company, it will take several days for the plant to resume operation.
