Over 7000 evacuated from Karabakh, Ombudsman says

PanARMENIAN.Net - Over 7000 people have been evacuated from 16 civilian communities of Askeran, Martakert, Martuni, Shushi regions of Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh), Ombudsman Gegham Stepanyan said Tuesday, September 19 evening.

Fighting in Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) continued into the night and the morning of Wednesday, September 20 after Azerbaijan launched a fresh offensive against the Armenians of Karabakh, also targeting civilian infrastructure.

The Defense Army of Nagorno-Karabakh said on Wednesday morning that fighting continues along the line of contact, with Azerbaijanis trying to occupy Armenian positions.

According to the Defense Army, the Armenian troops fight back.

Hundreds of people have been injured, dozens, including at least seven civilians, have been killed in Azerbaijan’s aggression.
