Russian peacekeepers help deliver 50 tons of aid from Armenia to Karabakh

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Russian peacekeeping contingent has helped deliver 50 tons of humanitarian aid from Armenia to Nagorno-Karabakh, the Russian Defense Ministry reports.

The cargo delivered to Stepanakert, Nagorno-Karabakh’s capital, includes food rations and hygiene kits, including basic necessities.

The Russian Defense Ministry said its peacekeeping contingent continues to host 826 civilians, including 440 children, who are currently unable to return to their homes.

“The Russian peacekeeping contingent maintains continuous interaction with Baku and Stepanakert, aimed at preventing bloodshed, ensuring security and compliance with humanitarian law in relation to civilians, as well as ensuring the safety of the Russian peacekeeping contingent,” the Ministry added.

The delivery comes days after a deadly military offensive launched by Baku against the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh, whose authorities ultimately agreed to a ceasefire on Azerbaijan’s terms, including the dissolution of the Defense Army.
