France pledges to continue to support Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - The newly appointed Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France, Stéphane Séjourné, has made special mention of Armenia in his address to the diplomatic corps accredited in France at the beginning of the year, the Armenian Embassy reports.

“We will continue to support Armenia in the South Caucasus,” Séjourné said.

“Armenia and Azerbaijan must finally achieve peace. Peace that will be just and lasting, based on international law and respect for the territorial integrity of both countries.”

According to him, the peoples of this region must be able to live with dignity, “and their history, memory and culture must be respected.”

Maron said in January that France has made a “historic decision” regarding Armenia.
