Armenia aspires to Silicone Valley

PanARMENIAN.Net - A regular meeting of the Armenian-American intergovernmental working group is being held in Yerevan under chairmanship of RA Minister of Economy Nerses Yeritsyan.



"The Armenia-U.S. cooperation will allow Armenian manufacturers to enter new markets and to attract new investors. Engagement of our companies in the work of Silicone Valley will also be discussed," Minister Yeritsyan said.



Some $238 million was invested in Armenian economy from 2000 to 2008. In 2008, investments amounted $30 million. Trade turnover totaled $52 million (export) and $219 million (import).



As of January 1, 2009, 535 U.S. organizations are registered in Armenia.
