The 2024 World Championship was held in Chișinău, with Hovhannisyan defeating Kazakhstan' representative in the finals. "Finally, after so many years, the goal is achieved — I am now the world champion! A huge thank you to everyone for the support," wrote on social media. Another Armenian arm wrestler, Azat Srapyan, took the 3rd spot in the same category.
