Armenia confirms receiving Azerbaijan’s COP29 invitation![]() October 25, 2024 - 16:51 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan has received an invitation from Baku to participate in the COP29 conference, Deputy Foreign Minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan said Friday, October 25, Factor.am reports. According to him, Armenia's participation in the conference is currently being discussed by the government. "This issue is being discussed in several aspects, both for the establishment of peace, the solution of humanitarian issues, and in terms of the agenda of the event. You know that it is the most prestigious international event addressing climate change. Taking into account all the circumstances I mentioned, in the near future we will make a decision on what level Armenia will be represented," said the Deputy Foreign Minister. When asked whether it is possible for Mirzoyan to attend COP29, Hovhannisyan said no option can be ruled out. According to him, everything depends on the developments of the coming weeks. Earlier, Deputy Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan, Chief Executive Officer of COP29 Elnur Soltanov announced that Azerbaijan has sent Armenia an invitation to participate in the UN climate conference COP29 to be held in Baku in November. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
