Armenia, Azerbaijan sign first bilateral document

PanARMENIAN.Net - Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that the border delimitation process between Armenia and Azerbaijan has advanced significantly in 2024, marking tangible progress. He emphasized that the first bilateral interstate document with Azerbaijan has been signed. The Prime Minister made these remarks during a press conference.

He also noted that the document has been approved by both countries through the necessary procedures, underscoring its importance.

"An agreement has already been reached that, in the near future, the commissions will focus on the demarcation of the Armenia-Azerbaijan border from the Georgian border to the Islamic Republic of Iran," Pashinyan said.

On January 16, Armenia’s Foreign Ministry announced that Armenia and Azerbaijan had reached an agreement on a new section of the border delimitation. The agreement stipulates that work will begin from the northern section at the Armenia-Azerbaijan-Georgia border junction and continue southward to the Armenia-Azerbaijan border with Iran.
