Government extends support for missing soldiers' families

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Armenian government plans to extend social assistance to families of servicemen missing from the 2020 war until February 2025, as reported by Armenpress.

Currently, under the regulation established in December 2020, the state provides a monthly support of 300,000 drams to these families, with the initial program set to conclude in December 2024.

The proposed amendment will prolong the program by an additional two months. The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has been tasked with presenting a proposal regarding the financing of this extension.

This change aims to alleviate the social burden on families affected by the war. The government remains committed to ensuring the social welfare of servicemen's families.

Currently, 22 families lack a court decision recognizing their relatives as missing, which would have resulted in the cessation of their payments starting February 1, 2025. Continuing support requires 6.6 million drams, to be allocated from the budgetary funds provided to the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.
