Waltz tells Hajiyev Armenian prisoners must be released

PanARMENIAN.Net - U.S. National Security Advisor Mike Waltz stated that during his conversation with Azerbaijani Presidential Advisor Hikmet Hajiyev, he emphasized that prisoners must be released and the peace treaty with Armenia must be finalized. He shared this information on his X microblog.

He added that the South Caucasus conflict must come to an end.

"We welcome the significant progress Azerbaijan and Armenia have made in agreeing on a peace deal. I told him that now is the time to finalize this peace agreement, release detainees, and work together to make the region safer and more prosperous.

America's golden era will bring peace and prosperity to the world, and we will tirelessly work towards that goal," Waltz wrote.

*On March 13, Armenia and Azerbaijan announced that they had reached a final agreement on the text of a peace treaty. Armenia's Foreign Ministry stated that it is ready to discuss the timing and venue of the signing with Baku. Many countries have welcomed the agreement, expressing hope that the document will be signed as soon as possible.
