Yerevan: mo evidence backs Azerbaijan’s claims of Armenian fire

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Armenian Ministry of Defense has dismissed Azerbaijan’s latest disinformation campaign.

According to the ministry, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry’s statement that on March 19, at approximately 14:15, Armenian armed forces allegedly opened fire on Azerbaijani positions in the eastern border area is untrue.

Later, the Armenian Defense Ministry also dismissed another claim from Baku, which alleged that between 19:00 and 19:10 on the same day, Armenian troops again fired on Azerbaijani positions in the eastern sector of the border. The ministry reiterated that this information does not correspond to reality.

Armenia’s Defense Ministry highlighted that the Prime Minister’s Office had previously proposed establishing a joint Armenia-Azerbaijan mechanism to investigate ceasefire violations and related reports. However, Azerbaijan has yet to respond to this proposal.

The ministry reaffirmed that, in line with the Armenian Prime Minister’s stance, it is willing to examine any evidence Azerbaijan provides to substantiate its claims. However, as of now, Azerbaijan has not presented any factual data or proof to the Armenian authorities that would confirm any ceasefire violations by Armenian forces.
