MP: Pashinyan’s statements weaken Armenia![]() March 20, 2025 - 16:01 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Amid Azerbaijan’s recent spread of false reports about Armenian ceasefire violations—claims repeatedly denied by Armenia’s Ministry of Defense—MP Tigran Abrahamyan from the "I Have Honor" faction stated on Facebook that Pashinyan’s remarks on the matter could send the wrong message. *"To a third party, it may seem that either Armenia did commit violations and Pashinyan is now ordering them to stop, or he doubts whether the army will follow his political course, which is why he is reinforcing his directive. I am certain that the Armenian army has not violated the ceasefire. But I am even more certain that Pashinyan’s statements are making Armenia more vulnerable. Peace is not begged for. It is achieved through strong negotiation stances, skilled diplomacy, an effective governance system, security measures, and readiness for war. What this government is doing is exposing the country to new challenges while sending messages of despair, defeatism, and helplessness to society,"* Abrahamyan wrote. Pashinyan had earlier posted on Facebook: “The Armenia-Azerbaijan peace agreement draft is finalized and awaiting signature. My order to the Ministry of Defense is clear—do not violate the ceasefire. Armenia is heading toward peace, not war.” Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution. President of the Armenian parliament Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova. Partner news |
