Opposition MP accuses Pashinyan of serving Azerbaijani interests![]() March 20, 2025 - 18:40 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian MP Hayk Mamijanyan has accused Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of negotiating not to defend Armenian interests against Azerbaijan but rather to enforce Azerbaijani interests within Armenia. He expressed this view in a Facebook post. *"Instead of negotiating with Azerbaijan over Armenian interests, Pashinyan is negotiating with Armenia to advance Azerbaijani interests. And when 'negotiating' with Armenian citizens, he employs all means—deception, threats, manipulation…,"* Mamijanyan wrote. On March 13, Armenia’s Foreign Ministry announced it had accepted Azerbaijan’s proposals on two previously unresolved articles, signaling that the peace treaty is ready for signing. Armenia also expressed readiness to begin consultations on the timing and location of the signing. However, Baku set new preconditions, stating it was too early to discuss dates for a meeting. The draft peace agreement consists of 17 points, 15 of which had already been agreed upon. The two disputed clauses involved renouncing international claims against each other and prohibiting the deployment of foreign representatives on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution. President of the Armenian parliament Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova. ![]() ![]() Partner news | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
