Tigran Abrahamyan, Secretary of the I Have Honor parliamentary faction, stated on Facebook that Artsakh’s former Foreign Minister Davit Babayan, currently imprisoned in Baku, is "freer behind bars than those clinging to power in Armenia."
Referring to the ongoing trial against Babayan in Azerbaijan, Abrahamyan commented that despite the regime's propaganda and staged court proceedings, Babayan openly admitted, "Yes, I opposed Artsakh’s integration into Azerbaijan."
“While hiding in cozy corners here, members of the ruling Civil Contract party yell into every microphone they find, claiming they’ve always believed Artsakh is part of Azerbaijan,” Abrahamyan wrote. “Davit, behind bars in Baku, is freer than those in power, who push Azerbaijani interests with even more zeal than the Azerbaijanis themselves.”
He added, “Stay strong, Davit. Freedom to all Armenians imprisoned in Baku.”
On April 7, during another hearing at the Baku Military Court, Davit Babayan reiterated his opposition to the integration of Artsakh Armenians into Azerbaijan, saying that no one saw such a scenario as feasible. “Integration was impossible,” Babayan stated.
