Nor Nork official brawl ends with activist detained

PanARMENIAN.Net - Activist Arthur Chakhoyan, who previously informed about threats made against him, attended a public discussion held at the Nor Nork administrative district office in Yerevan. Before the meeting began, a verbal dispute erupted between the activist and municipal employees, escalating into a physical altercation that reportedly included the head of the Nor Nork district, Tigran Ter-Margaryan, according to Factor.am .

On April 29, Chakhoya nand opposition members of the city council had staged a protest in the district building. Chakhoyan accused the district head of insulting and threatening him after he criticized flaws in a local kindergarten project.

Police arriving at the scene detained Chakhoyan, as reported by Aysor.am. Law enforcers did not explain why only Chakhoyan was detained, while officials allegedly involved in the violence, including Ter-Margaryan, were not.

Chakhoyan was taken to the Nor Nork police department. From the police vehicle, he declared, “I will see this through to the end.”

Earlier that day, outside the Nor Nork administration building, Chakhoyan and city council member Mesrop Manukyan held a press event, alleging a corruption case. They claimed that substandard construction at Kindergarten No. 105 was carried out by LilianArm LLC, owned by a ruling party council member. Chakhoyan said the district head called him afterward, issuing threats and insults.

In protest, Chakhoyan and Manukyan poured yogurt on photos of Tigran Ter-Margaryan.
